Ron CrabtreeHappy birthday, America! July is in full swing with plenty of heat, although we’re also having more rain than is typical for our northern climate. I hope you all had time for some cookouts and fireworks earlier this month.

Our featured article this month comes from Roberto Segovia III. Roberto, a Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Production Technician (MSSC), has some great insights on getting your Lean Six Sigma initiative up and running successfully. You won’t want to miss this concise guide.

Next, Stephen Cherlet talks about the surprising relationship he found with Lean Manufacturing and a catchy tune from 1972. Who knew that you could put such a great introduction to Lean concepts to music? Stephen’s article is sure to put a smile on your face.

Do you ever feel like you and your team members aren’t all speaking the same language? Maybe you’re having issues with Gender Speak? Sylvia Lafair is back this month to show us how men and women are different in their communication styles, and how to adapt your own style to improve the delivery of your message.

Finally, Forrest Breyfogle III shares a video clip of his own with ideas on how to resolve many business management system issues. If your organization has employed more than one process improvement system, Forrest can show you how to best integrate all your new improvements and keep your teams running smoothly.

This month, I’m thrilled to present Patricia Linn as our featured consultant. Patricia is a senior development and marketing strategist with more than 25 years of experience in her field. She presents a recent case study involving the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association Discover Sailing and Discover Boating Programs.
