Ron CrabtreeSeptember is in full swing, and the kids are back in school. More traffic, more family obligations and more opportunities to succeed. Yes, you read that right; even as we move into the cooler months, there are plenty of opportunities to improve your own business practices, as well as those of your organization!

Welcome to the September issue of MetaOps MagEzine, complete with new ideas and insights for the success of your organization along the theme of “Change Management.” Larry Osentoski, new contributor to MetaOps MagEzine, leads off with a great discussion about operational excellence in an engineering environment; does your organization have a grasp on respect? Learn how you can achieve organic growth and achievement in this all-important area.

Next, Joann Parrinder drops by with a look at how change is typically feared and resisted, and what you can do to change that. A healthy attitude toward change can go far to improve employee satisfaction and productivity.

Finally, another new contributor, Kevin Duggan, offers a look into his practices with a discussion on the new frontier for Lean concepts. Want to learn more about value stream mapping? This concise article will give you plenty to get you started, and is a great jumping-off point to get your organization talking about Lean.

Our featured consultant for September is Mike Pircer, a Lean Six Sigma expert, speaker and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience. Mike stays involved with the business community by facilitating numerous workshops and seminars throughout the year for the Walsh Institute in Troy, MI, and offers a great case study based on a locally-owned pie company.

Before I let you go, I’d like to just take a quick moment to thank you for your time and attention. Our goal is to have MetaOps MagEzine be a source of motivation and inspiration for you, just as our clients are for us. Interested in contributing?
